“My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.” Isaiah 56:7 |
By 1928, the construction of the red brick church at the corner of 39th Avenue and 71st Street was completed and, with 45 members in the congregation, Trinity was well on its way to becoming the “melting pot” congregation on the edge of town. The church building in which we pray today was completed in 1953 with the educational and office wing added in 1962. Since its beginning Trinity has sought to live by the Lord’s mandate “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.” |

In February 2008, we dedicated the first phase of our "Open the Door" building project which made us an accessible house of prayer for all people. The challenge for us in this new century is, "How can we continue to effectively live out this commitment to the Lord?" We have a high regard for what our forbearers have contributed to our church's mission. Trinity Lutheran Church has a history of rising to the occasion. As we now work toward "Open the Door - Fulfilling Dreams," you are invited to become part of the amazing opportunity to "fulfill dreams" with our new spaces so Trinity can continue to faithfully live out its mission here in Kenosha and the world." |
This verse is engraved in stone over the main entrance into Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Over the 80 year history of this congregation many have come to pray in our church sanctuary. It all began when a small group of West Side families got together in 1927 to form their own house of worship rather than travel across town to Grace Lutheran Church. |
